We are committed to future-proof construction. To ensure this goal is also strategically embedded within the company, we conducted a dual materiality analysis together with our stakeholders. This combines the inside-out and outside-in perspectives of relevant topics, reduces complexity, and enables us to focus on topics that are relevant to us.
As part of further consolidation measures, all relevant sustainability topics were summarized into seven strategic priorities. Building Information Modeling

Build on the right tools.

It's a model for the future, in the truest sense of the word. BIM stands for Building Information Modeling, and it means that buildings are first constructed virtually. The work is being done on the digital twin of the construction project. It looks like a 3D model, but that's deceptive. The model goes beyond the third dimension. There's a fourth: time. A fifth: costs. And a sixth: sustainability.
All project participants, from estimation and planning to implementation, enter their information into the model. BIM is a data and process model, not a finished solution. Operational data is continuously updated, regenerated, and compared. Anything that doesn't fit can be identified and improved early on. This type of digitalization is rarely required on the market. HANDLER relies on open BIM solutions and is a pioneer in the field. BIM has been in use here for years and is continuously being developed further.

Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and alliance agreements are the pillars of this future. They bridge the gap between the traditionally strict separation between planning and execution and the vision of collaborative construction. IMP enables all participating companies to contribute their expertise early on and, in consultation with architects, deliver the best possible outcome for the project.
Contractual frameworks are shifting away from work contracts toward alliance contracts. This involves a multi-party agreement that spans the entire project. Risks and rewards are shared among the project participants. Cost and schedule certainty are increasing significantly.

Madaster - the cadaster for building materials

Madaster is an innovative and forward-looking platform for enabling a circular economy for all aspects of the construction and real estate industry. The web-based application stores a wealth of information about materials, including their circularity factor, ecological footprint, and residual value. This gives the material an identity.
